FIVE INTERVIEW TIPS TO USE NOW
- When called for an unexpected interview, it's okay to inquire what the focus will be and ask to
call back in 10-15 minutes (when you've wrapped up what you're working on!)…being mindful
of reporters' deadlines, of course.
- If giving a radio interview, remember to use powerful active verbs and vividly descriptive adjectives
to provide a picture your audience can “see.”
- It's perfectly all right to engage the interviewer in a conversation by asking him/her questions as well…especially if those questions lead to information you want to share.
- When conducting a telephone interview, stand. It will increase the energy in your voice.
- Always act like the microphone and camera are on. Don't say or do anything you wouldn't want broadcast.
